Since the morning of Monday December 9, 2024, it has been impossible to refuel with Unleaded 95 at the station Total near the Zénith de Caen (). This is also the case in two other stations in Ifs (relais d'Ifs and relay des Callouins) according to . In total, 12 TotalEnergies service stations in are affected.

A problem with water in gasoline

Water in gasoline could be the cause of vehicle breakdowns observed shortly after using fuel. Our colleagues from actu76 were able to contact the Total group which confirmed: “The presence of water was noted in Unleaded 95-10 fuel distributed to customers in 12 stations of the TotalEnergies network in the Normandy sector. This presence of water in the fuel causes breakdowns after around ten kilometers traveled. »

The three stations concerned in the Caen metropolitan area refuse to confirm the problem.

In the event of a breakdown or suspicion, it is recommended to contact Total Énergies consumer service directly by telephone on 0970 808 651. Consumers concerned will be asked to “provide all supporting documents [tickets, preuves d’achat…] so that the costs relating to this incident are covered,” specifies the oil giant.

Other types of fuel (diesel, SP98, etc.) remain available at the pump.
