Deprived of an ecological bonus in France and now subject to compensating customs duties at European level, electric cars produced in China must deal with a political context which is not favorable to them. However, despite attempts by legislators to slow down the arrival of Chinese groups in Europe, the latter demonstrate that their competitiveness is still not hampered. Thus, if the rise of MG Motor was penalized in France by the lapse of the ecological bonus in 2024 for models produced in China, the manufacturer was able to use discounts to maintain the competitiveness of its models. And while the ecological bonus has just been cut, reducing the advantage granted to electric cars produced in Europe, MG is driving the point home by further increasing the discounts on its electric cars.

From €8,000 to €10,000 off the MG4, MG5, ZS EV and Marvel R
€21,990 is the price at which the MG4, this compact electric sedan rivaling the Renault Megane E-Tech, is displayed, while the Frenchwoman is asking from €34,000 excluding bonuses. The MG4 thus combines the €5,000 discount already in place with a €3,000 promotion introduced on models in stock, valid until December 27, 2024. At this price, the compact is equipped with a 51 kWh capacity battery. total which gives it a range of 350 km WLTP, but the 64 kWh battery versions, offering up to 435 km of range, are also eligible for this promotion, including the XPOWER sports version.
This same promotion is also valid on the ZS EV city SUV, certainly at the end of its life, which starts at €23,990 for a range of 320 km. The MG5 station wagon (320 or 400 km range) and the Marvel R family SUV (402 km range) go even further with a €10,000 discount, still on models in stock. They are therefore displayed from €22,990 and €34,490 respectively.
These attractive offers therefore affect all MG electric cars, with the exception of the Cyberster roadster. The manufacturer's hybrid models are also not affected. Note that MG guarantees its cars for 7 years or 150,000 km.
It will be better to be quick to take advantage of these offers. At the time of writing, the MG Motor France website lists 759 MG4s available in stock, 164 ZS EVs, 7 MG5s and 48 Marvel R.
