In mid-November, we revealed the 7 finalists for the title of Car of the Year 2025 – called Car Of The Year or COTY for short – an election representing 23 European markets. The winner who will be crowned on January 10 at the Brussels Motor Show will be one of the following candidates: Alfa Romeo Junior, Alpine A290/Renault 5 E-Tech, Cupra Terramar, Citroen ë-C3, Dacia Duster, Kia EV3 or Hyundai Inster . The winner will take over the Renault Scénic Electric.
In Switzerland, another national election will also take place for which 10 finalists have been selected. This is an opportunity to question whether our Swiss neighbors have the same tastes as Europeans as a whole?
Here are the 10 candidates selected for the Swiss election:
Universal sure values
Half of them are also among the finalists for COTY 2025. These are the most “popular” models. Starting with the Citroën ë-C3 and Renault 5 Tech, note that in Switzerland, the Alpine A290 was not selected unlike the rest of Europe where the two vehicles which in certain respects are one seem to have inseparable destinies.
The common core also includes the Dacia Duster which has long been the cheapest 4×4 on the market in Switzerland, the Kia EV3 and the Alfa Romeo Junior.
A Chinese electric GTI that is popular in Switzerland
The other half calls for more exclusive models like the MG4 408 and 639 hp, and the Polestar 4 SUV, the brand of which is still not distributed in France, claiming a power of up to 544 hp.image
In this list we also find the new BMW Finally, the Volvo EX30 brings up the rear.
Switzerland seems insensitive to the charms of the Hyundai Inster as well as those of the Cupra Terramar.
