Marseille (four flights per week) and Malta (two flights) from May 30, Bari in Italy (two flights) and Alicante in Spain (three flights) from May 31 as well as Alghero in Sardinia (two flights) from the 4 July. To ensure these new connections, Volotea will strengthen its presence at its Bordeaux base, with the arrival of a third aircraft in May (Airbus A320) and the creation of 30 additional direct jobs. In total, the airline will employ 110 people directly and employ 630 people indirectly at the airport. Recruitment sessions will begin this winter.
More than 1 million seats in 2025
“We are delighted with this announcement, for both professional and leisure destinations which were in high demand by our customers,” reacted Cyrielle Clément, responsible for developing lines at Bordeaux airport. With 35 destinations from Bordeaux, Volotea is the second airline in terms of number of seats offered at this airport, after EasyJet. “In 2025, we will offer 1.2 million seats in Bordeaux, or 200,000 more than in 2024, in an industrial context where it is difficult to obtain planes,” rejoiced Gilles Gosselin.
