Call for a “clear action plan” to help sector players
Opened by the mayor of Lyon Grégory Doucet, the Umih congress is being held until Thursday, with the theme this year of technological advances, in particular artificial intelligence. While the Minister of Tourism Marina Ferrari is expected on Thursday to conclude the congress, Thierry Marx deplored that“no clear action plan or concrete financial support has been mentioned to help players in the sector and adapt to the expected move upmarket” by the new ministerial team. He notably mentioned the need for support for small businesses in their digital transition, “uncertainty” around the reduction in cost reductions, the reduction in learning aid or the fact that no measures have been announced for the housing of seasonal workers.
The boss of the Umih du Rhône Thierry Fontaine, for his part, mentioned the motions of censure filed by the opposition on Monday against the Social Security budget, threatening the current government, judging that this “would still plunge us into uncertainty and tension”. He also mentioned the “burning debate on meal vouchers, transformed into shopping cart vouchers”ensuring that the sector will know how to “mobilize to find the right solution”.
