In total, six Canadian cities are in the ranking produced by the marketing agency Resonance in collaboration with Ipsos.
The titles of “best cities in the world” were determined based on three factors: quality of life, charm and prosperity.
Resonance analyzed the statistics of metropolises with populations of more than one million inhabitants.
User data from online sources like Google, Tripadviso and Instagram were also used to determine ranking positions.
Topping the list of the best cities in the world in 2025 is London, England.
“London’s resilience and unparalleled global appeal have solidified its place at the top of our annual rankings,” writes Resonance.
It is the only city that finished first in seven of the ranking’s 28 subcategories.
In second place is New York, followed by Paris in third place in the ranking.
The first of six Canadian cities to make the list is Toronto, which comes in 15th position.

The marketing agency underlines the great place given to entrepreneurship and the attractiveness for investors.
The fact that the city is becoming more pleasant for cyclists and pedestrians is also highlighted.
The city of Ottawa, for its part, comes in 52nd position, while Calgary finishes in 54th place.
The last Canadian city in the ranking is Edmonton, which is in 65th position.
