The Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel will be completely closed in both directions during the night of December 7 to 8 due to major repairs.

This obstacle is required in order to carry out work related to the tunnel’s electrical and communication systems, said the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility.
Maintenance work will also be planned on Highway 25, which will be closed in both directions, the ministry announced.
Here are the details of the obstacle that will await motorists during the night of December 7 to 8:
Highway 25 towards the South Shore
- Night from Saturday to Sunday, from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m.
- Complete closure of Highway 25 towards the South Shore (including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel) between exit 5 (R-138 / Rue Hochelaga / Rue Sherbrooke) and the entrance from Charron Island.
- Entrances to this section will be closed 30 minutes before the complete closure of the highway.
- Avenue Souligny eastbound, between Rue Dickson and Rue Honoré-Beaugrand, will be closed 30 minutes before the complete closure of the highway.

Highway 25 towards Montreal
- Night from Saturday to Sunday, from 11 p.m. to 9 a.m.
- Complete closure of Highway 25 towards Montreal (including the Louis-Hippolyte-La Fontaine tunnel) between exit 90 (Aut. 20 west, route 132, La Prairie / USA, Varennes, P.-E.-Trudeau airport) and the entrance from Sherbrooke Street East.
- Entrances to this section will be closed 30 minutes before the complete closure of the highway.
