The two takeover offers for Gaussin, a French manufacturer of logistics vehicles specializing in the manufacture of lifting equipment, which had been sent in recent weeks to the commercial court of Vesoul (Haute-Saône), were rejected by the latter. “The prices offered are indecent in view of the liabilities and, in addition to the social damage, many local businesses and financial establishments will directly suffer the consequences,” thus estimated the court in its judgment, of which our colleagues from AFP have taken note.

A big contract not honored

As a result, after a company safeguard procedure opened last April, then a judicial recovery more recently, the Gaussin company, based in Héricourt (Haute-Saône) and which still employs around sixty employees today, will put the key under the door, with total debts estimated at 140 million euros, for 235 creditors. Let us remember that the start of Gaussin's real setbacks dates from 2023, when the group was unable to honor a large contract for 355 electric models intended for customers in North America, including Amazon. Things are going badly, very badly for the automobile industry, where legal proceedings have been piling up for several months…
