A 44-year-old man suffered serious injuries after being stabbed late Friday evening in the Sud-Ouest borough of Montreal.
According to spokesperson for the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) Véronique Dubuc, the attack occurred around 11:40 p.m. near the corner of Saint-Rémi and Cazelais streets.
The attack is said to have occurred on vacant land, near the intersection. Around ten tents were on site.
Véronique Dubuc specified that the victim was injured in the upper body. The man was conscious when the police arrived.

“The victim was quickly transported to a hospital,” she said. It was around 1:30 a.m. that medical authorities confirmed that she was out of danger.”
“Everything suggests that the victim knows her attacker,” she added. The two men allegedly had a conflict during which the suspect took a sharp object to injure the victim before fleeing on a bicycle.
A dog handler attended the scene to find evidence. The scene was protected for the duration of the investigation.
