This weekend, motorists who use the interchange of highways 13 and 520, in Montreal, and that of the Samuel-De Champlain bridge, in Brossard, will have to plan an alternative solution. Please note, the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) service is also experiencing certain timetable changes.
Published yesterday at 6:20 p.m.
Starting Friday, November 29, at 10 p.m., Chemin de la Côte-de-Liesse, eastbound, will be closed at Highway 13. Motorists will not be able to use this portion of the road crossing Montreal and Dorval until ‘until Monday, December 2, 5 a.m.
The detour will be via the 23e Avenue, Hickmore Street and Montée de Liesse north.
Thus, exit 4 of the A-520 eastbound will also be closed to motorists, by default. The same applies to the A-520 east ramps leading to the A-13, whether in the direction of Lachine or Laval. Motorists coming from Lachine, on the A-13, will also not have access to the ramp towards the A-520 east.
Congestion is also expected on the South Shore of Montreal, in Brossard. During the same period, from Friday 10 p.m. to Monday 5 a.m., the ramps of Route 132 leading to Highway 10 – whether in the direction of Montreal or Sherbrooke – will be closed.
The detour will be via Boulevard Marie-Victorin.
Mobilité Montréal therefore advises motorists to avoid these sectors if possible, and suggests planning their trips due to the risk of congestion.
“In the event of unfavorable weather conditions or operational constraints, the work could be canceled or modified,” warns Mobilité Montréal in its press release.
REM schedule
The service schedule of the Réseau express métropolitain (REM) is also experiencing certain changes this weekend. Friday and Saturday, the last departure from the Gare Centrale station will be at 11:45 p.m. In Brossard, the last chance to take the REM will be at 11:25 p.m.
Please note that on Saturday and Sunday, the service will start later than usual, at 8 a.m.
The Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility mentions that this schedule break will be resumed the following weekend, that of December 6, 7, and 8.
