A jackpot of $70,000,000 has already been won in Quebec three times in the history of Lotto Max, but no one has ever won an amount of $80 million across the country.

“The last time the jackpot was 80 million, it was last September and the amount had been won in part in Quebec, so a resident of Outaouais had gotten his hands on half, while the other half was won outside Quebec,” explains Renaud Dugas, spokesperson and director of media relations at Loto-Québec.

With the Maxmillions, the total prize pool reaches almost 100 million dollars. However, the Maxmillions are distributed in 20 lots of 1 million.

Since its creation in 2009, the total Lotto Max prize pool has already surpassed this figure of 100 million. It had reached 140 million, or 70 million in jackpot and 70 Maxmillions prizes.

“Lotto Max is one of the most popular lotteries in Canada, a lottery that many people dream about. No one has ever won a large amount like 80 million in the country,” underlines Mr. Dugas.

Just like 6/49 and Grande Vie, Lotto Max is a pan-Canadian lottery which is carried out in association with other lottery companies, including theOntario Lottery and Gaming (OLG) and the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC).

In 2024, Loto-Québec will award more than a billion dollars in prizes to Quebec winners. Since its launch in 2009, more than $3,790 million has been won by Quebecers in Lotto Max.
