Hendaye-Paris passengers stranded nine hours before arriving in… Bordeaux

Journey into the end of the night. Late Friday afternoon, passengers boarded the TGV in Hendaye to reach the capital. A journey that normally lasts five hours. But shortly after their departure from the Pyrénées-Atlantiques, around 6 p.m., the train stopped after a power supply incident that occurred near the town of Morcenx, in the Landes, reports BFMTV.

“We didn’t know how long we were going to wait. They didn’t know either,” one of the passengers told BFMTV. According to SNCF, this breakdown is due to a catenary break caused by the passage of another train earlier in the day.

A special train for travelers

After more than nine hours of waiting, the passengers finally arrived at the station… in , at 3:30 a.m. Exhausted, they were taken care of and a (short) night in a hotel was offered to them.

A few hours later, the SNCF chartered a train especially for these unfortunate passengers. He left Bordeaux station at 5:18 a.m., our colleagues explain. He must arrive at the correct station – Montparnasse – in the morning. Travelers should also be reimbursed up to 150%.
