Christmas is still a month away. If the deadline approaches, the most impatient can count on the traditional Advent calendarwhere each day comes with a little attention.

You are one of the gourmands who have purchased an Advent calendar with chocolates? Be careful, one of them, sold in several major brands, is currently the subject of a recall throughout France.

A large number of batches concerned

As detailed on the RappelConso platform, the recalled product is an Advent calendar in the shape of a Christmas treeof the brand Celebrations. Do you see? The one that offers bags of different small chocolates, such as Mars, Bounty, Twix or even MilkyWay.

Several lots are recalled. They all share the same barcode, namely 5000159500173:

• Lots 426A11FZ40, 426A21FZ40, 426A31FZ40, 426B11FZ40 and 426B21FZ40. All these lots have a minimum durability date (i.e. the words “preferably consume before…” followed by a date) set at 06/22/2025;
• Lot 424E31FZ40 (minimum durability date: 06/08/2025);
• Lots 425A11FZ40, 425A21FZ40, 425E11FZ40, 425E21FZ40, 425E31FZ40 (minimum shelf life: 15/06/2025);
• Lots 433C31FZ40, 433E11FZ40 and 429E31FZ40 (minimum durability date: 07/13/2025);
• Lots 430A11FZ40, 430A21FZ40, 430A31FZ40, 430B11FZ40, 430B21FZ40 and 430C31FZ40 (minimum durability date: 07/20/2025);
• Les lots 432A11FZ40, 432A21FZ40, 432A31FZ40, 432B11FZ40, 432B21FZ40, 432B31FZ40, 432C11FZ40, 432C21FZ40, 432C31FZ40 et 432D11FZ40 (date de durabilité minimale : 03/08/2025) ;
• Lot 433C21FZ40 (minimum durability date: 08/10/2025);
• Lots 438C11FZ40 and 438C31FZ40 (minimum durability date: 09/14/2025).

A labeling anomaly involved

The reason for this national recall? A labeling anomalyreplies RappelConso. “The mandatory information does not appear in French” so consumers are exposed to an allergenic risk for the following ingredients: “barley, eggs, milk, peanuts, soy, wheat”.

All these calendars removed from the shelves have been marketed since September 12, 2024. The best-known brands that have sold it are Auchan, Intermarché, Carrefour, Système U (now called Coopérative U), Cora and Monoprix.
