E. Leclerc stores are recalling salad bags sold in recent days throughout France. In a fact sheet published this Friday, June 21, 2024 on the Rappel Conso website, the mass distribution giant warns of the presence of listeria monocytogenes (agent responsible for listeriosis) in the products of its flagship brand “Notre Jardin”.

The incriminated items are maxi-packets of 320 g of lettuce hearts. They were sold in the fresh fruit and vegetable sections between June 4 and 14. Consumers are advised to check the lot number, 07V2234, and GTIN code, 3564700179383. “Only products bearing the additional code 09 following the barcode are affected by the recall”specifies the sheet.

Symptoms to watch out for

“People who have consumed the products mentioned above and who present with fever, isolated or accompanied by headache, and body aches, are invited to consult their doctor and report this consumption”, advises Rappel Conso. The specialized site points out that the incubation period for listeriosis can be eight weeks and that it is a potentially serious illness.

Customers who purchased the salad should not consume it. It is possible to return it to the point of sale in exchange for a refund. A telephone number is available to consumers: 0800 865 286.
