Users of line 1 of the Ilévia metro will have to change their plans for the long weekend of November 11. It has in fact announced a complete closure of this line on Sunday 10 and Monday 11 November 2024. This interruption will allow Ilévia to carry out “dry runs”, that is to say tests in real conditions of the new automatic piloting system, in preparation for the arrival of double capacity trainsets.

Setting up relay buses

To compensate for this interruption, Ilévia is planning a relay bus service throughout the duration of the closure, with runs every 10 minutes during the day and every 15 minutes in the evening, following the usual metro schedules. Line 2 remains open and a reinforced information system will be put in place to guide users.

New platforms in service

In preparation for future 52-meter trains, new platforms have already been accessible since Monday November 4, 2024 on line 1. These platforms have been redeveloped with new screen doors, modernized lighting, and improved access, thus offering space more pleasant and functional for passengers.

Ilévia is continuing its extension project to improve the user experience and prepare line 1 for the arrival of the new trains.
