Bad surprise for Proximus customers: the operator has removed its cheapest offer

Proximus is cleaning up its offer. The operator has discreetly removed its cheapest internet offer.

You will no longer have to pay €28/month for an internet connection with Proximus but €39.99/month. The operator has in fact just canceled its cheapest internet subscription, discreetly, as our colleagues from L’Avenir have nicely spotted.

Proximus justifies this choice by the fact that a new social tariff will be introduced in March 2024. This will be billed at a maximum of €19 per month and will potentially be accessible to 600,000 households in Belgium. It is possible to check if you are eligible by clicking here and connecting with Itsme.

And casually, this is bad news for consumers, because if the price decreases for people in precarious situations, people who have income will have to pay almost €12 more per month for their internet connection. . At this price, they will only be entitled to very limited speeds, with a speed of 100 Mbps. For fiber (500 Mbps), you will have to pay €62.99/month (excluding promotions).

The Proximus Internet Essential plan included a surfing volume of 100 GB per month with a speed of 50 Mbps.
