Major fire in Charlesbourg: the damaged building was demolished

The building under construction, which fell prey to flames on October 17, on Boulevard Louis-XIV in Quebec, was finally demolished in recent days.

The day after the fire, the contractor OÏKOS Construction assured that the event would not have an impact on delivery times since the work had moved ahead of schedule.

Despite the demolition of the building, the contractor maintains that it will be able to deliver the project on July 1, 2025 as planned. The complex includes two buildings with 24 rental units. Only one of the two buildings, which includes the Oléa project, was affected.

After assessing the damage, the company concluded that it was easier to start from scratch rather than repair what was damaged by the flames.

The fire required the intervention of 75 firefighters from the Quebec Fire Protection Service.
