“There is a front of resistance that we must put up. The N-VA with its MR allies are only waiting for one thing, to make savings in health care,” added Mr. Magnette who was worried about the prospect of seeing Bart De Wever become Prime Minister. He paraphrased the words used by the president of the Flemish nationalists in an interview: “If he becomes Prime Minister, a tsunami of misfortune will fall on Belgium. We socialists will not let this happen.”

One week before the triple federal, regional and European elections, the PS wants to reach out to the 20% of voters who are undecided or who do not want to vote. “The next seven days will be crucial,” predicted Mr. Magnette.
