This Tuesday afternoon, two suspects, Quentin born in 1990 and Kevin, born in 1988, were intercepted when they had just tried to steal merchandise for a total of 714 euros from the Cora store in Rocourt. Those interested have accumulated merchandise in a basket.

They targeted alcohol, video games and clothing. They then headed to a closed checkout in the store. They tried to push the basket to the other side of the register to steal the contents. The store’s security guard had noticed the suspicious behavior of the persons concerned. He intervened and arrested the individuals.

A reminder of the law

The latter admitted that they had decided to commit the theft for a person who had offered them a hundred euros to commit the acts. They explained that as the basket had not gone far enough, they felt it was a sign telling them not to commit the crime. Kevin allegedly told Quentin that he refused to participate in the facts. That he had “simply” placed boxers in the basket intended for objects that were going to be stolen and was to receive part of the loot. The Liège public prosecutor’s office was informed of the facts. The two suspects were received by the magistrate on duty. The latter reminded them of the law while awaiting the continuation of the investigation.
