LThe results of this study reveal that the number of active legal entity companies (EPMA) amounts, in 2021, to 16,763, an increase of 9.9% compared to the previous year.

In addition, the Oriental region saw the creation of 2,452 legal entity companies (EPM) in 2022, showing a decrease of 7.9% compared to the year 2021 and an increase of 20.2% in the number of EPMs. in the process of dissolving for the same period, specifies the study. The provincial analysis shows, for its part, that the prefecture of Oujda-Angad concentrates 35.2% of jobs declared to the National Social Security Fund (CNSS), and benefits from 47.6% of the outstanding balance of this funding. By sector of activity, “construction” is the main contributor to employment in the prefecture of Oujda-Angad and the province of Figuig in 2022, representing respective shares of 29.9% and 25.7%.

On the other hand, in the provinces of Taourirt and Guercif, it is the “manufacturing industry” which occupies first place, with respective shares of 36.7% and 24.2% in 2022.

Regarding the evolution of financial indicators, the analysis of the balance sheets of a sample of 1,968 EPMAs indicates that their cash flow, in 2021, increased overall compared to the year 2020.

On the other hand, the balance sheet data of microenterprises and VSEs show that debts to partners constitute the first component of their financial resources during the same period, representing on average 53.3% and 41.2%.

The analysis by province of indicators of access to bank financing by EPMAs in 2022 shows that 47.6% of the outstanding amount of this financing is concentrated in the prefecture of Oujda-Angad. Companies run by women, representing 10.6% of this workforce, benefited from 3.6% of the aforementioned outstanding amount. Furthermore, female employees represent 27.3% of total employment in the region, compared to 32.8% at the national level.

In terms of female entrepreneurship, 11.9% of businesses are run by women in the region in 2021, this share being 13.6% in the prefecture of Oujda-Angad and 12.8% in the province. of Figuig.

This study, which constitutes a variation of the annual report carried out on a national scale by the OMTPME, aims to provide a diagnosis of the productive system of each region of the Kingdom and to make available to public and private actors a series of indicators key issues concerning demographics, the economic and financial health of businesses as well as indicators on female entrepreneurship.
