The “Morocco-USA Venture Capital” forum and the GITEX Africa Digital Summit are opportunities for Morocco to show its key role as a technological hub in Africa.

Morocco is progressing rapidly in various sectors and becoming a technological leader in Africa, declared the United States Ambassador to Morocco, Puneet Talwar, during the “Morocco-USA Venture Capital” Forum in Marrakech.

Mr. Talwar stressed that, thanks to the vision and leadership of King Mohammed VI, the Kingdom is in full swing. In 2022, Moroccan startups raised $119 million in venture capital, showing their ability to attract investment for innovative solutions to local and regional challenges.

He added that this success is due to the proactive policies of the Moroccan government, with its crucial support through policies, financing and regulatory reforms, thus recognizing the importance of startups for economic growth and job creation.

Moroccan technology startups stand out in areas such as agri-tech, climate-tech, health-tech, fintech and deep-tech, paving the way for significant technological advances.

The “Morocco-USA Venture Capital” forum and the GITEX Africa Digital Summit are opportunities for Morocco to show its key role as a technological hub in Africa, strengthening its image on the global technological scene.

Organized by the US Embassy in Morocco in collaboration with “Prosper Africa”, the forum presents 25 of the most promising Moroccan startups.

This event, which runs until May 28, aims to explore the Moroccan startup ecosystem and connect American and African investors with these startups and their innovative founders. It aligns with the GITEX Africa Digital Summit, which is expected to attract more than 35,000 visitors from across Africa and beyond, including 1,200 startups and businesses.
