According to the Tanger Tech Development Company (SATT), the installation of Hailiang and Shinzoom at the Mohammed VI City represents a major turning point in the Moroccan automotive ecosystem.

Two major industrialists will set up at the Cité Mohammed VI Tanger Tech. These are the Hailiang Group and the Shinzoom company, world leaders in the automotive battery industry. The agreements for the installation of these large-scale projects were signed last Tuesday at the headquarters of Bank Of Africa in Casablanca. “These agreements represent a major turning point in the Moroccan automotive ecosystem, with the welcome in the Kingdom of a first industrial copper operator, through the Hailiang Group, and a first anode operator, the Shinzoom company” , indicates in this sense the Tanger Tech Development Company (SATT). And to continue: “These new ambitious projects confirm the positioning of the Mohammed VI Tanger Tech City as a center of excellence and opportunities for international industrial companies operating in competitive and globalized sectors, in accordance with the far-sighted vision of SM King Mohammed V. It should be noted that these projects represent a total investment amount of 910 million dollars in 2024. Spread over an area of ​​30 hectares, the Hailiang project involves an investment of 450 million US dollars from 2024 as well as the creation 1,800 jobs. “Headquartered in Zhuji, Zhejiang Province of China, Hailiang is a global industrial leader, particularly in the production of copper automobile parts, such as pipes, bars and pipe fittings. Founded in 1989, the company generated revenues of US$30 billion in 2022, ranking 459- in the Fortune Global 500 for the same year. And to specify that “with 22 production sites spread across the world, including in the United States and Europe, Hailiang has established strong partnerships with renowned companies, such as Sunwoda. As for the Shinzoom project, it covers an area of ​​20 hectares. It involves an investment of 460 million US dollars from 2024 and the creation of 2,000 jobs.
Founded in 2001 and headquartered in Changshan, Hunan province, Shinzoom has established itself as China’s third largest anode producer, generating revenues of approximately US$1 billion in 2023. The rapidly growing company operates at through six factories in China, including two in partnership with industry leaders such as BYD,” recalls SATT in this sense. It should be noted that SATT is the result of a partnership between three leading national players, Bank of Africa, Tanger Med Special Agency (TMSA) and the Tangier-Tétouan-Al Hoceima Regional Council, in association with the Chinese company China Communications Construction Company (CCCC), the first public works and infrastructure group in Chin.
The company operates, develops and develops a new industrial and residential city, integrated and intelligent, over an area of ​​2,167 ha in the Tangier region and already welcomes around ten operators since its effective launch in February 2023.
