The aircraft manufacturer has made its choice. Its second assembly line intended to manufacture its ERA hybrid-electric regional aircraft will be located in Daytona Beach, Florida. The first groundbreaking is planned for 2026.

The American adventure is becoming more and more clear for Aura Aero. After announcing last July its intention to build a production plant in Florida for its 19-seat hybrid-electric regional aircraft, the Toulouse aircraft manufacturer has just clarified the outlines. The assembly line will be located at the Daytona Beach International Airport in Volusia County. With an area of ​​50,000 m2it will make it possible to manufacture 100 ERA aircraft per year. Construction of the plant is due to begin in 2026. Its entry into service is announced for the last quarter of 2028.

This second production line, which will complement that of Toulouse-Francazal, will mainly be used to deliver to Aura Aero’s American customers. To date, of the 570 copies of ERA pre-ordered, more than half are for the North American market.

The ERA hybrid-electric aircraft will have a range of 1,600 km.

Equipped with eight electric motors powered by batteries and turbo generators running on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), the aircraft will mark a technological breakthrough. It will reduce CO emissions2 up to 80% compared to thermal aircraft of the same category.

Construction of the Francazal factory is due to begin next year and should be operational in 2027. The first ERA test flight is announced for 2026. The entry into service of the regional aircraft Toulouse is still scheduled before the end of the decade.
