The company based in , in the southwest of , plans to “build a 50,000 m2 manufacturing and assembly plant at Daytona Beach International Airport in Florida”, where its American headquarters will be located, he said. -she clarified in a press release.

Aura Aero is developing the ERA (Electrical Regional Aircraft) aircraft, a 19-seat hybrid electric aircraft project, the first flight of which is planned for 2026 and entry into service hoped for in 2028.

Around a hundred devices per year

The factory, which will meet “the massive needs of the American market” aims for “a target of 100 devices per year. Construction is expected to begin in 2026, and the plant is expected to be operational in the last quarter of 2028,” according to the release.

The company, which also wants to build a factory near its headquarters at Toulouse-Francazal airport, employs nearly 250 people. At the beginning of October, it announced the entry into its capital of the French energy company EDF.

Aura Aero says it has signed letters of intent with 12 airlines for 570 examples of the ERA in total, including 50 with US regional carrier JSX, a deal announced at the end of 2023. According to Aura Aero, the ERA, which has eight propeller engines, will be able to transport either 19 passengers or 1.9 tonnes of freight, and will have a range of 1,600 km.
