Job Overview

  • Lead the franchise or region team and provide commercial expertise to successfully drive the business plan working with our bottling partners. Coordinate all marketing, sales and franchise activities across a geographic area to achieve volume and share targets supporting the execution of the Bottler’s Business Plan (BBP). Leverage functional support and expertise to quickly resolve opportunities or issues – marketing, sales, legal, public affairs and communications (PAC), technical, finance or human resources.

Function-related activities/key responsibilities
Strategy and commercial performance:

  • Develop and implement a three-year business plan and an annual business plan for the assigned geographic area, aligning the bottler with key investment commitments.
  • Approve and ensure execution of the annual Bottling Base Plant (BBP) – manage opportunities and issues that arise with the bottler management team
  • Approve and ensure execution of clients’ annual business plans

Finance

  • Manage region P&L ensuring delivery of profit, volume and share figures
  • Ensure compliance with the local authority charter, financial governance standards and Opex management at local level
  • Effectively adjust and correct during the annual cycle to ensure delivery of profit figures.

Market Execution and Commercial Excellence

  • Identify business improvement and market development initiatives to generate additional volume, profit or share
  • Ensure that the OPPPC of the region or territory is optimized by leveraging joint analysis and BU experts.
  • Drive the RED (Right Execution Daily) program with the bottling partner(s), ensuring it is integrated into the organizational culture.
  • Actively seek opportunities to improve our route to market, leveraging best practices
  • Ensure enforcement of consumer programs designed to enhance consumer brand value.
  • Promote horizontal expansion through incentive programs for the creation of points of sale

Manage production and distribution capacity

  • Lead conversations with our bottling partners to agree the investment levels needed to meet demand.
  • Plan three years ahead to invest in capacity, glass and coolers
  • Lead the quality program in factories ensuring we meet our packaging and product quality indicators.
  • Monitor capacity performance to anticipate supply chain opportunities or challenges

Franchise management

  • Establish strategic, value-based “win-win” relationships with system partners within the Bottler leadership team and at regional levels.
  • Lead strategic system capacity planning to ensure we have the processes, organization, technology, culture and people necessary to meet our three-year commitments.

People leadership

  • Motivate and lead the regional team and all functional support to achieve the annual and long-term business plan.
  • Develop system and team capabilities to ensure our team continues to lead the market and build the careers of our associates.
  • Effectively manage all high-quality HR processes, on time and within budget – training, performance management, organizational changes, etc.

External stakeholders and sustainability

  • Represent the Company to all external stakeholders and KO events
  • Manage company profile and reputation and lobby governments with PAC support
  • Lead the workplace rights and human rights program with bottling partners.
  • Fully assist in the execution of community programs designed to enhance KO’s reputation within the community

Job Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum business degree, MBA preferred
  • Minimum 10 to 12 years of experience in an FMCG company with at least 5 years in operations. Functional experience would be an advantage. The bottler benefits from an additional advantage.
