The agreement concluded with the American giant Oracle for the expansion of its activities in Morocco reinforces the Kingdom’s place as a hub for investments and innovation in digital technologies, indicated the Minister Delegate in charge of the Digital Transition and Administrative Reform, Ghita Mezzour.

Following the signing of this agreement on Thursday in San Francisco with the CEO of Oracle, Safra Catz, the minister recalled that the strategic expansion in Morocco of the American company, which is among the ten largest tech companies in the world, gives rise to Oracle’s first research and development center in Africa and the eighth worldwide.

The center, which currently operates with a reduced team in Casablanca, will employ, under the terms of this agreement, a thousand Moroccan engineers and researchers who will be at the forefront of the design and development of innovative solutions in the artificial intelligence, big data, cloud computing and even cybersecurity.

“These solutions will be deployed globally, strengthening Morocco’s position as a regional digital hub,” added Mezzour. And added, “this ambitious project will also help to stimulate investment flows from large companies in the digital field, in accordance with the clairvoyant vision of the Sovereign“.

During her working visit to San Francisco, the hub of technological innovation in the United States, which was also marked by a series of meetings with American companies, Ghita Mezzour stressed that ““strengthening cooperation with major players in the technology sector consolidates Morocco’s influence as an attractive hub for foreign investments and a pool of skills in the field of digital solutions.”
