A communication meeting focused on promoting the “Go Siyaha” program was held on Friday in Fez, in favor of economic and tourist stakeholders active in the Fez-Meknes region.

Organized by the Ministry of Tourism, Crafts and Social and Solidarity Economy, the Maroc PME Agency and the Fès-Meknes Regional Tourism Council, this meeting was an opportunity to present in detail the “Go Siyaha” and its different components.

During this meeting, speakers welcomed this regional initiative which aims to support the development and growth of tourism businesses and improve their competitiveness to meet the new requirements of the sector on a national and international scale while creating a new generation of businesses.

Speaking on this occasion, the regional delegate of Tourism, Abdellah Lamniai, underlined that “Go Siyaha” is considered one of the major programs of the tourism roadmap which aims to welcome 17.5 million tourists by 2026 and 26 million in 2030.

Mr. Lamniai specified that this roadmap has rethought the tourist offer by moving from a logic of “pure destination” to a logic of “experience” and this, to better correspond to the new type of behavior of travelers through the activation of several levers, including promotion, the development of air travel, the enhancement of human capital, support for stakeholders and the development of an innovative and diversified entertainment offering.

This offer will be focused, according to him, around nine thematic sectors and five transversal sectors which have been identified through significant consultation work with local authorities, professionals and the various stakeholders.

“Support for investment, strengthening the competitiveness of tourism operators and structuring the fabric are sine qua non conditions for the success of this roadmap,” he underlined.

In a statement to MAP, the president of the Fez-Meknes Regional Tourism Council, Ahmed Sentissi, welcomed the arrival of the “Go Siyaha” program, calling it an opportunity for the region.

“This project comes at the right time when our region has a great need for investment and development of the tourist entertainment offer,” he said. According to Mr. Sentissi, professionals in the Fez-Meknes sector, in close collaboration with local authorities, are ready to take up the challenge represented by this program and make their territory a destination of choice for major events to come, such as the World Cup 2030, the African Cup of Nations 2025, and other major events.

For his part, the head of the Promotion and support division for investment projects at Maroc PME, Mohammed Belhaj, explained to tourism stakeholders that “Go Siyaha” is structured around three support components, namely, “support for investment”, “technical expertise to support competitiveness” and “support for green growth”.

Through the “investment support” component, the program offers bonuses for tourism activities and associated accommodation projects, with rates of 30% to 35% of the overall investment amount.

For its part, the “technical expertise to support competitiveness” component concerns financial strategy, operational excellence, market development, digital transformation, for which the program covers up to 90% of the costs. benefits.

As for the “support for green growth” component, it targets sustainable development projects in tourism, with an investment bonus of 40% of the overall investment amount and support of 90% of the cost of advice and technical expertise in sustainable development.

“Go Siyaha” aims to support 1,700 tourism businesses by 2026, for which a budget of 720 million dirhams has been allocated.

Alongside this event, individual sessions were organized to support companies wishing to register for the program.

Launched on February 14, 2024 in Rabat, the “Go Siyaha” program is part of the deployment of the programs of the roadmap of the Ministry in charge of Tourism 2023-2026.
