(Alliance ) – Arc Minerals Ltd celebrated progress in its African operations on Thursday, with work commencing in Zambia and the first phase of a drilling program set to begin in Botswana.

According to the copper exploration company, which focuses on mining in Africa, its joint venture partner began working in Zambia after the rainy season ended. The work program will include diamond drilling, initially on two identified targets.

Meanwhile, in Botswana, a study on copper targets in PL 135/2017 is expected to be completed next week. Next, the first phase of a 2,000 meter reverse circulation drilling program is expected to begin this quarter.

“We are excited to begin drilling activities in Zambia and Botswana, after a long rainy season in northwest Zambia,” said Nick von Schirnding, Chairman of the Board.

“Extensive studies have been carried out on the stratigraphic hole which was completed by our joint venture partner in December 2023, providing valuable information and geological data from the deepest part of the Kabompo Basin.”

Arc Minerals shares were down 5.9% at 1.65 pence each in London on Thursday afternoon.
