Before venturing into the restaurant business, Lino Zambito was an entrepreneur. Among the projects he has worked on are an access ramp to the infamous Highway 50 and a section of the Metropolitan Highway. So we can say that he knows major works.

At his QUB microphone, Benoit Dutrizac transformed himself into Prime Minister of Quebec. And his first move: appoint Lino Zambito as head of the Ministry of Transport. What would he do to improve Quebec’s roads?

“First, I bring the expertise back to the ministry,” explains Mr. Zambito.

Former construction entrepreneur Lino Zambito, who became Minister of Transport in the blink of an eye on a podcast, explains how Quebec could do better on large public projects, speaking to Benoit Dutrizac at QUB:

According to him, this would avoid several omissions in calls for tenders, and, ultimately, several hundred million dollars, if not billions, in additional costs.

And he adds…

“We have to bring in companies from Ontario,” suggests the entrepreneur.

The objective is to break up the usual conglomerates, to promote healthy competition to allow Quebecers to get much more for their money. But don’t think he has anything against the current government.

“I admire Minister Christian Dubé. He goes on the field and that’s what we have to do.”
