A new, cleaner fuel is in the works

A new fuel derived from E85 and even less polluting is currently under development. We will explain everything to you !

For many years, thermal cars have been accused of polluting and consuming fuel which is becoming scarce. But things are changing.

An innovative fuel

And for good reason, the government is doing everything to encourage motorists to opt for electric cars, considered much more environmentally friendly and less harmful. Because internal combustion vehicles are criticized, particularly for their fuel consumption. But researchers are working hard to design alternatives that could allow our thermal cars to continue to run. We think, for example, of E85, which is composed of 85% ethanol made from plants. But now the latter could soon undergo a radical transformation, becoming entirely renewable. In any case, this is what the latest discovery by scientists suggests, who were able to make even cleaner fuel, and very promising. The latter is then still composed of ethanol, but there will be a small but very important difference all the same, since there will no longer be fossil gasoline as is currently the case.

A more environmentally friendly fuel

Indeed, and as Nicolas Kurtsoglou, fuel manager at Bioethanol France, explains, “We remove the part of classic fossil gasoline in E85 and replace it with 15% renewable fuel. It can be made from used cooking oil and at the end, we have an E85 which comes 100% from biomass.” Thus, this fuel no longer uses any non-renewable energy Source, unlike gasoline, diesel or even E85 currently used in our cars. In addition, this new fuel also makes it possible to “reduce CO2 emissions by 70% compared to gasoline, and by 90% to 98% emissions of nitrogen oxide and particles in overall footprint, it is that is, including the production of fuel and its consumption. But what about the price? If the latter is not yet known at the moment, it should remain affordable. Experts are indeed talking about a liter which should be around 1 euro. Enough to guarantee great success for this alternative.

All that remains is to obtain the green light from the European Union for its marketing!
