“At the end of the 2024 summer season, easyJet will no longer operate flights to and from Beauvais. We concentrate our efforts on maintaining and developing the lines most popular with our passengers, focusing on those with the highest demand. We continue to serve 22 airports in France“the company told our colleagues.
The commercial director of Beauvais analyzes this closure as the consequence of too fierce competition with the low-cost heavyweight Ryan Air and the Hungarian company Wizz Air.
Priority high demand lines
In a press release addressed to Nice Matin, the company states that this is a strategy of permanent evolution: “Like all airlines, easyJet constantly evaluates development opportunities. In this context, easyJet opened three routes to Beauvais in 2022 to explore new catchment areas. The company now wants to focus on lines with high demand and offers nearly 80 lines on its Parisian bases at Paris Orly and Paris CDG. easyJet continues to be the second largest airline in France and to expand in the territories, with 22 airports served and more than 20 new routes opened this year including services to Egypt for the first time in the company’s history In France.”
On the company’s website, it is now impossible to book a Beauvais-Nice flight after October 25.
The company launched this line to Nice in 2022, with lines also serving Lisbon and Milan from the Oise prefecture.
