New incident at Boeing. In mid-flight to Los Angeles, one of the emergency slides of a Delta plane came loose, forcing the pilots to turn back this Friday, April 26.
None of the 176 passengers were injured, but all had a good scare. On Friday, during a New York-Los Angeles flight, the emergency slide of a Delta airliner fell After takeoff.
The Boeing pilots had to turn around to land at John F. Kennedy International Airport after only half an hour of flight. They told ABC News they heard “vibrations and a loud noise”.
In a press release, Delta explains that the emergency slide on one of the exits came loose. The airline says it does not yet know where the slide may have landed. “Delta fully supports recovery efforts and will fully cooperate with investigations,” it said.
Yet another incident at Boeing
The aircraft in question, a Boeing 767, had been flying for 33 years. After the incident, he was removed from service, according to US media.
The passengers were redirected to another flight to Los Angeles, according to the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), which announced it was investigating the accident.
This is a new incident for Boeing which has been multiplying in recent months. In January, an Alaska airline plane lost a door mid-flight. Three months later, a takeoff had to be aborted due to an autopilot problem.
