The for Economic Development has just completed a major operation on the interbank market. It mobilized a financing line from the South African Development Bank (Dbsa), amounting to 70 million euros, or 46 billion CFA francs. A Source of satisfaction for those responsible for this banking establishment, because it should enable it “to strengthen its fundamental mission of financing the Senegalese economy, in particular structuring projects”. This credit, they specify, will also “strengthen the financing of historical customers, in particular Small and medium-sized enterprises/industries (SME/SMI), but also and above all the consolidation of its quality as a development bank”.
On the criteria for granting these resources by the South African bank, the collaborators of Abdoulaye Niane, CEO of the Bnde, cite the “solidity of the financial and prudential indicators of the national bank. The financing line is thus granted to the Bnde over a period of 7 years, at a competitive rate given current international rate conditions.
For them, “this support comes at the right time, after that of the shareholders, in particular the State of which increased the capital of Bnde from 11 to 52 billion CFA francs, an unprecedented increase of 41 billion”. A decision which responds to the current context of increasing the minimum share capital of banks from 10 to 20 billion CFA francs. In short, Bnde intends to consolidate its assets and engage in a growth dynamic. This constant commitment from top management and all staff is relentless. Added to this is consideration of current concerns, in particular compliance with requirements in terms of social and environmental risks (CSR).

On this same momentum, this national bank, which has just celebrated its 10th anniversary, is “in a good dynamic of adhering to the Equator Principles (Ep) and obtaining its accreditation to the Green Climate Fund”.
