Football – The French championship broadcaster is offering a ten-day promotion

It is unclear whether this will drastically increase the number of subscribers, but DAZN is (finally?) doing its part. The British streaming platform will launch a promotion on Tuesday, valid from September 10 to 22, lowering the price of its annual subscription from 29.99 to 19.99 euros per month to watch Ligue 1, the boss of DAZN France announced to AFP.

“Regarding the monthly offer [sans engagement] which is 39.99 euros, the first two months will be 19.99 euros. So 50% off on the first two months, explained Brice Daumin, CEO of DAZN France. And we are going to do an exceptional promotion on the annual offer which is today 29.99 euros (per month), which will be 19.99 euros over 12 months.

“Building over time”

The group’s boss also welcomed the channel’s debut in French football: “The first three days were crucial for us. We had zero bugs. We are happy with this start. The feedback from the clubs is positive. A first step has been taken. Now, it is important to build over time, learn lessons and develop the product,” he added.

At the end of a long saga, DAZN acquired the TV broadcasting rights for eight L1 matches per day at the beginning of July for an average of 400 million euros per year, with beIN Sports broadcasting a r(…) - 20minutes
