Already a monster craze for products from here

The local purchase rebounds thanks to Donald Trump and several Quebec companies take advantage of a strong craze for their products hoping that the trend will be maintained.
“Already this weekend, we saw it on traffic on our website!” There are several people who are very interested and who want to learn more about our products, ”underlines Pierre-Olivier Drouin, who owns Frank Ménard des Sauces Firebarns.
The Lévis company, which will blow its candles this year, is already preparing to respond to an even stronger demand for its sauces and condiments.

“Currently, we make sure that our distributors are not lacking in products. We are already in production for summer [une période forte]so it is well, we won’t lack sauces, “added the 42 -year -old entrepreneur between two phone calls.
Known for its spicy sauces, the Firebarns brand also produces condiments that are not spicy, including a Quebec ketchup, which could soon replace its American competitor in several fridges in the province.
Fighted strawberries
The Gadbois family farm, located in Saint-Barnabé-Sud, was the victim of its success this weekend while all its stock of greenhouse strawberries was sold.
“It is definitely following the Facebook publication that we saw a craze. It happens to sell our whole inventory, but during celebrations like Christmas, Easter or Valentine’s Day, “explains Mélanie Gadbois, one of the five owners of the company.

On social networks, dozens of publications concerning the products of here have been published in the last days and that of the Gadbois farm has attracted several.

“We have met a whole new clientele, we saw many new faces in the last days,” says the 34 -year -old woman.
In addition to strawberries, the Gadbois farm sells local products, meat and processed products, such as cakes and pies.

“People were filling their basket!” I would say that one of the most purchased products was the apple and strawberry juice. Several people are already replacing their orange juice, ”she added.
Beyond purchases of the last days, the company hopes that new purchasing habits will be born and consumers will start to buy local in the long term.
Public markets also wanted to highlight the importance of buying food from Quebec by recalling that the consumer had “the power to choose the products from here and actively participate in the collective effort, three times a day”.
Local ice cream
Coaticook Quebec ice cream was also at the center of several exchanges on Facebook groups in which several Quebec consumers recalled “luck” they had to consume it, while several Ontarians hope for their arrival in their supermarkets.
