A company from Louiseville cuts its sponsorships to the city due to the pro-Trump positions of the mayor

Scalded by the partisan remarks of its mayor for Donald Trump, a company from Louiseville strongly considers to withdraw its funding from $ 150,000 which was attributed to the construction of an interior center of pétanque.
Canadel, an important furniture manufacture in Mauricie, has not yet made a final decision.
“For the moment, it’s only a rumor,” says André Giguère, the president and director-general of Canadel, in an interview with the Montreal Journal. As a corporate citizen, to support a person who endorses the one who despises Canadians, who threatens us and who does not follow any law, it does not really make sense.
“It is official that we look at if we continue to support this project which stretches in length. It was presented to us in 2022. ”

For his part, the mayor of Louiseville Yvon Deshaies never hid his admiration for Donald Trump. He reaffirmed his support in different media, including the daily Le Nouvelliste, in the last days.
However, it is well aware that he will have to repair the broken pots with the business leaders who employ nearly 600 people.
“I worked at Canadel for 10 years and they are great people,” said Deshaies on the waves of 98.5 Tuesday morning. The Deveault family, who owns Canadel, helps us a lot and I can’t say anything.
“I’m going to allow a little time before going to meet them. I don’t know if I’m going to apologize. On the other hand, I did not say that I was happy to see the prices of 25 % of Trump and I will never say it. ”
