Yagi made landfall in Vietnam’s northern provinces of Quang Ninh and Haiphong around midday, uprooting thousands of trees and sweeping boats out to sea, state media VNExpress reported. In Haiphong, metal roofs and billboards flew across the city as strong winds and heavy rains brought by the typhoon swept through the city.
