Translator, bookseller, specialist in old Books, but also writer, Marc Agron won the 11th edition of the City of Lausanne book prize for his fourth novel The life of thingspublished by La Veilleuse. Chosen by a public jury, the winner benefits from an endowment of 5,000 Swiss francs (approximately 5,300 euros), as well as a place at the literary residence of Château de Lavigny, in the canton of Vaud.
After Memory of cells, Carousel of the wind et Dreaming of Almaall published by l'Âge d'Homme, Marc Agron this time offers a suspense novel in which Yann Mendelec, a writer who has fallen into oblivion, hopes to win back his audience with a new title, even if it means changing his identity and multiplying the lies.
Lover of old books
Arriving in Switzerland at the age of 19, Marc Agron studied at the University of Neuchâtel, before training as a bookseller and specializing in old books. In 1996, he founded the Univers bookstore with his wife in Lausanne. The author regularly publishes catalogs of old and valuable books, participates in various literary journals and organizes contemporary art exhibitions.
