“The sun is dead…” Nicoletta has never been more right than today, Parisians must say to themselves. Indeed, according to a Météo-France weather report issued this Tuesday, the capital recorded a series of six days without a single minute of sunshine from January 15 to 20.
These are the results obtained by the station located at Parc Montsouris (14th arrondissement) which attest to this series, the third of at least six days without sun since this fall (after the periods from October 29 to November 3, 2024 and from 28 December to January 2, 2025), as François Jobard confirms on his BlueSky account.
Rain of sad records for the Parisian weather
An exceptional series never seen for twenty-five years and the fall/winter of 1999-2000, to which is added a period of five days between December 8 and 12.
Obviously, it is difficult to raise the mercury without the help of the star. Also, in its bulletin, Météo-France suggests that Monday January 20 was “possibly” the coldest day of winter in the capital, with an average temperature of -0.2°C. Lowest winter temperature among the warmest in history, a consequence of global warming, according to the agency.
I don't know who is interested in this information, but it's already been 6 full days without a single minute of sunshine in #Paris. This is already the third series of this type since the end of October, as much in one autumn/winter season as in the previous 25 (1999/2000 – 2023/2024).

Enough to further undermine the morale of Parisians who had already had to endure a historic record of rainfall in 2024. The Paris town hall would even consider revising the motto of the capital to “Beaten by the waves and do not tan”.
