François Bayrou present out of duty

“It is a moral obligation, pleasure and tradition to be present today at the racecourse.” Prime Minister of since December 13, Michel Barnier’s successor at Matignon is, as we know, viscerally attached to horse racing. And despite a very busy schedule, he was present this Sunday January 19 to attend the Prix Calixte Bayrou, paying tribute to his father, just before the kick-off of the big highlight of the meeting, the 138th Grand Prix de Pau – André Labarrère Prize won by Ital Conti. Responsible for the South-West region for ParisTurf, Olivier Bornia, supported by Clémence Riot, went to meet the Head of Government, a horse breeder and proud of his agricultural origins. He returns to the enthusiasm of the Pau public for horse racing and indicates “that the racing environment in France is first rate on an international scale and there are not many sectors in our country capable, at the moment, of competing with the best countries in the world.” Watch his entire speech below.
