Séléna Bernard, consultant, trainer and specialized coach, has been supporting book industry professionals in their strategic projects, business development and marketing initiatives for over 15 years.
With a diverse background, she collaborated with publishers to promote the export of Quebec houses to Europe and managed the Montreal office of Bragelonne Québec for a decade, where she established solid relationships with booksellers and designed training courses. meeting the specific needs of the sector.
Committed to continuing education and skills development, she was a lecturer in book marketing at the University of Sherbrooke and served as an external advisor for the professional component of the Montreal Book Fair (SLM PRO).
She also collaborates with cultural and creative business accelerators, such as La Piscine, and is actively engaged in essential causes, including the fight against harassment and the promotion of female leadership. She defends management based on kindness and inclusion, in favor of a positive transformation of practices in the book industry.
A key role for strategy and communications
With unique expertise in the cultural field and a collaborative approach, Séléna will intervene in several areas:
• Continuing training for booksellers: Development and structuring of a two-year program, including online modules and practical training to support the professional development of booksellers.
• Interprofessional meetings in the book industry: Contribution to the programming and organization of this major event, which will bring together the main players in the industry.
• Strategy and institutional image: Development of a strategic vision to strengthen the presence and image of the ALQ, in support of general management. Development of initiatives to promote independent bookstores to the public and partners.
