For Marie Reboul, “movement is medicine”. A piece of advice, or rather a motto, that she likes to repeat throughout the sessions, videos or pages. Because yes, the Riorgeoise has more than one string to her bow.
Firstly that of physiotherapist, a profession she has practiced in Roanne since 2011, within the practice at Place de Verdun. But also that of a Pilates trainer (in the office, online or in business), a discipline praised for being shock-free. Or even that of an “influencer” on Instagram, via her account which now has more than 35,000 subscribers, on which she distills short videos of exercises in this gentle gymnastics. But it is now the author’s hat that Marie Reboul has recently been wearing so proudly.
Grandma’s exercises and recipes
His book, titled Pain relief physiotherapist published by Solar Editions, was released on January 2 with a print run of 5,000 copies. “In March 2024, I received an email from this publishing house asking me to write a notebook to talk about the pain around women. I didn’t believe it right away,” rewinds the physiotherapist. Many sleepless nights followed to write these hundreds of lines, which were beautifully illustrated by Alice Wietzel and Eleanor Laleu.
“It comes in the form of a notebook offering “routine” exercises adapted to each area of the body, combining muscle strengthening, mobility and stretching. There are also little grandmother’s remedies. » The aim being to “offer non-drug solutions while waiting for a consultation with the doctor,” continues Marie Reboul, knowing that delays are often long and that many people do not have a GP. »
And Pain relief physiotherapist is ultimately aimed at both men and women, the latter see a chapter entirely dedicated to them. “I talk about female pain, the menstrual cycle and endometriosis. In passing, this will perhaps allow men to know them a little better,” smiles the enthusiast.
To populate these 112 pages, Marie Reboul was of course inspired by her work in the field. But also recent scientific publications which she likes to read about. “What we must understand is that there is no magic recipe. Every individual is different. What works and is good for one person may not necessarily be good for others. The key is movement. And above all, magic happens where we don’t want to go. That is to say, we have to look for where it hurts, regularly and progressively,” she summarizes.
