Galaxy S25 Ultra: a reinvented design

As the launch event approaches Galaxy Unpacked 2025 from Samsung on January 22, rumors and leaks continue to grow. The latest one offers a unique insight into the improved design you future Galaxy S25 Ultra.

A more modern and refined design

Popular tipster Ice Universe recently shared an image of the Galaxy S25 Ultra alongside Samsung's current premium models, the Galaxy S24 Ultra and S23 Ultra. While there are many similarities, two major design changes stand out:

  • The design is more rounded than his predecessors.
  • The borders have been reduced to their minimumthe thinnest ever seen on a smartphone.

Thinner bezels for a bigger screen

Ice Universe has predicted since December that the borders of Samsung's next flagship would surpass ” all current mobile phones“, including the iPhone 16 Pro Max. While the exact measurements of the bezels have not yet been revealed, the side-by-side comparison undeniably shows that they are thinner than those of previous Ultra models.

As for the chassis, this modification is in line with that of the Galaxy S24 and Galaxy S24 Plus, which also have rounded corners. Galaxy's Ultra phones have retained their distinctive bezels since the model's launch in 2020, but it makes sense that Samsung would opt for a more uniform look across all of its flagships.

An overview of the specifications

The overall dimensions of the Galaxy S25 Ultra aren't expected to change much from last year's model. While the Galaxy S24 Ultra featured a 6.8-inch screen at launch – one of the largest screens available at the time – the S25 Ultra is expected to slightly exceed that size with a 6.9-inch screen, thanks largely at finer edges.

At this point, there's not much left to reveal at next week's big Samsung event. The full specifications of the Galaxy S25 series have already leaked, as have the colors of the three models. Other expected improvements include a new 50MP ultra-wide sensor and Qualcomm's powerful new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.

With the Samsung Unpacked event scheduled for January 22, we won't have to wait long to check out the Galaxy S25 Ultra and see how these design changes pan out.
