“Why I’m not a Republican” by Ange-Mathieu Mezzadri

It is in the “Polemic” collection, and we understand why, that Anima Corsa editions have just published this book by Ange-Mathieu Mezzadri, doctor. A graduate in public health, specialist in occupational medicine and professional integration of disabled workers, attached to the internal medicine department of Saint-Louis hospital, he is also a lecturer at the faculty of medicine and at the École centrale . Writer (The Joker, The son of the Nation, beheaded…) and journalist, he has always tried to reconcile his medical activity, with strong social connotations, and his writing activity. In ” Why I'm not a Republican “, the author denounces the French Republic “as a deceptive facade, hiding a disconnected and manipulative elite.

« Far from achieving its promises of equality, the Republic perpetuates glaring inequalities, particularly through an educational system
which conditions rather than educates, reinforcing the privileges of some while leaving others in the shadows
», writes AM Mezzadri. And to continue: “ Freedom is stifled by repressive laws which, under the pretext of security, restrict individual rights. Brotherhood, in the past
cornerstone of the Republic, has become an empty slogan, incapable of masking the growing social divisions.

« Secularism, once synonymous with freedom of conscience, has been transformed
transformed into a tool of control and exclusion, accentuating divisions
instead of appeasing them.

The author also criticizes the ideological conditioning imposed by the Republic, which, in the name of national unity, imposes a single thought and represses any divergence. Finally, excessive centralization of power distances citizens from crucial decisions,
exacerbating their feeling of injustice and powerlessness in the face of a system that no longer represents them
».
