Your Christmas film: “Mad love between a cook and a grand ducal heir”

At Winterlights, in the banks or further from the capital, at Lake Echternach, in Remich, Clervaux, Esch-sur-Alzette or even Vianden, did you respond in particular.

Liza clearly imagines “Santa Claus and his elves walking around Mullerthal with presents on their backs”. Sam, for his part, envisages “a beautiful film where Gelli, a trader in Kirchberg, falls in love with Franz, the sausage seller at the Christmas market”. The Grand Ducal Palace also makes readers dream, since several have proposed it as an ideal filming location.

The grand ducal family should even play a role in fiction, according to some. Alysson, who admitted to having used artificial intelligence for her false synopsis, talks about a financial analyst who falls in love with Guillaume de Luxembourg. “On Christmas Day, under the snowflakes falling gently on the city, Guillaume invites Clara to a royal ball. In a moving scene, he declares his feelings to her, promising to build a future together,” writes the reader.

Far from the whimsical poetry of the Christmas movie, readers joked about the daily traffic. “The film would be a flop, the actors stuck in traffic to get to the Christmas market, waiting an hour for parking,” comments one of them.
