Today at 6:00 p.m. – by Thomas Fourcroy

On Monday December 23 at 9:10 p.m., 2 broadcasts the first episode of the series Zorro. A brand new version, which could have many surprises in store for you…

Reboot, remake, prequel, sequel… Over the last ten years, it's an understatement to say that nostalgia has been on the rise among filmmakers, producers and other television channels. Indeed, there are many franchises of the past that have received a proper facelift, with more or less success. After Jumanji or even Code Quantumit is now the turn of a masked hero to arrive: the legendary Zorro. It's Jean Dujardin who does it, in a more than promising style, combining comedy and action. Enough to really intrigue France 2 viewers. Curious people who will be surprised by this little detail.

Zorro : Jean Dujardin puts on the cape and mask again, 20 years later!

After Alain Delon, Antonio Bandera and Douglas Fairbanks, Jean Dujardin will don the costume of Don Diego de la Vega this evening. Here, no young leader with a sharp blade, but a man who has put away his sword and his Zorro mask for more than 20 years. Mayor of Los Angeles, he's tired of trying to hold the furniture and keep calm in the city… That was without counting the confusion and other antics of a crooked businessman: Don Emmanuel. Untouchable by legal means, he will push Don Diego de la Vega to resume his activities. Hat, cape, mask, saber, faithful steed… It is under the identity of Zorro that he will make his own, two decades after his last outings!

Zorro : when France 2 squeezes the name of Sergeant Garcia

Playing on the humorous fiber, this new version of Zorro wonders about his own hero. Here, the duality of the leading role emerges as the thread of the series, to which well-explored secondary characters are attached. There is Gabriella (Audrey Dana), the wife of Don Diego, with a strong character, but also the famous Sergeant Garcia. Having become a bit of a philosopher, Zorro's rival played by Grégory Gadebois has nevertheless had his surname removed. Indeed, as the newspaper revealed Progressit is for rights issues that on France 2, it will just be called “Sergeant” and not “Sergent Garcia”
