The Morvan site of the association of the hospital library of Brest and its region of the Brest University Hospital Center received a donation of 120 children’s Books, Wednesday December 18, 2024. The firefighters of the naval base of the city of Ponant have collected works, comics and graphic novels among others, within their company. “Our wish is to enrich the library funds intended for young hospital patients, from early childhood to adolescence. As rescue professionals, we intervene in the short term, it is a way of extending our commitment but this time through the prism of literature to occupy the children’s time”, testifies the frigate commander of the company of Brest firefighters, Christophe Fagon.
Claire Robet chairs the association. In addition to Morvan, the 75 volunteers also work in René-Fortin de Bohars, Cap-Horn de Landerneau, Ponchelet, follow-up care in Guilers and Cavale Blanche. “There are two rounds per week, Tuesday and Thursday, in pediatrics. In 2023, 1,200 loans have been recorded. This mobilization allows us to renew the fund also accessible to Brest University Hospital staff,” specifies the president of the BHBR.
