Nogent-le-Roi. A book, a smile. The parents of APEL students at Saint-Joseph Catholic school have launched a major challenge: to completely renovate the establishment’s library, which is aging, by first sorting Books that are too old (more than 10 years).
A collection Thursday and Friday
“It is becoming urgent to renew the books, which is why we are launching the “one book, one smile” operation. This is a call for donations of works, documentaries, magazines, books, novels, comics, for young audiences. We need everything. We also collect gym mats, so that the children can sit on the floor to read, and possibly from libraries, in good condition,” specify the parent volunteers. They will be present on a stand for a book collection, on Thursday December 19 and Friday December 20 in front of the school, from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., during the school’s Christmas market.
The school participated in the Book Festival in November, 250 references were made available to children, parent volunteers and the teaching team for readings and activities. A drawing competition allowed APEL to reward each class with a book. “In total, families purchased 203 books, which gave us an endowment of 52 new works for our library. »
