Claudie Mercier opens up about her adolescence

CULTURE. Claudie Mercier, from Beauceville, launched her very first book on November 14 entitled No secrets between us: my confidences and yours. Written in diary format, the popular content creator addresses different themes, including first times, sexuality, anxiety, love, friendship, as well as the influence of consumption and social networks, which will join many adolescents.

This project started over a year ago. La Beaucevilloise had been approached by Éditions de l’Homme to write a book. Initially, she wasn’t sure she wanted to embark on this writing project. “I’m already an open book on social media. I didn’t know what more I could say. It was when I thought about my adolescence that the idea came to me. At this time of life, I often felt misunderstood and I was sometimes embarrassed to address certain subjects,” explains the woman who became an ambassador for Tel-Jeunes over the past year.

In addition to the numerous anecdotes, some of which have never been told by the person who is very present on social networks, there are creative spaces to allow the reader to confide and express themselves. There are also tests that will allow him to learn more about himself. “What I like most about my book is that it is not linear. Young people, if they feel like reading about a particular subject, they can do it. It doesn’t really follow each other in each chapter. It’s separated by theme. […] I wanted it to be my diary, addressing subjects that touched me when I was a teenager, but for young people to also be able to confide in them. I didn’t want this book to just be about me,” she admits.

According to the author, No secrets between us: my confidences and yours mainly aimed at teenagers. “Young boys also experience these first romantic breakups, romantic and sexual relationships at this age. These are times that can be stressful for a teenager. As a woman, I open up about my experiences as a young girl, but the fact remains that in the book, I include everyone so that everyone feels accepted. »

An enriching experience

Claudie Mercier says she really enjoyed this first writing experience. For now, she wants to focus on launching No secrets between us: my confidences and yours. The 28-year-old Beauceronne will participate in several literary fairs over the coming weeks.

“I want to savor the present moment. I am so happy with the success of my first book. I want to live this experience to the fullest and focus all my energy on it. However, I am not closing the doors to a second book. »

“I think it’s a reading that can really do you some good. Anyone can relate to this book and can afford to be vulnerable. Christmas time is approaching, I think this is a great gift that you can give to your teenagers,” she concludes.
