Its launch. It’s “D” day in the life of a book, and not just any book! Indeed, it is a new work created by the talented “Master of Cuisine”: Jean-Claude Aiguier.
This event took place in a terribly nice place, perfectly suited for this type of reception: at the Relais et Châteaux Les Bas-Rupts in Gérardmer.
Around Jean-Claude, his children, a lot of friends, his chef friends, all talented, the written press and a few personalities: Michel Philippe, mayors and François Vannson, the president of the Vosges Departmental Council.
Everyone, without exception, came to congratulate Jean-Claude and prove their interest in this astonishing and oh so warm and so true book!
In his communication, Jean-Claude Aiguier insisted on his passion for Tableware. He evoked each page where his memories, anecdotes, emotions filter through… In short, only strong moments.
In summary, it is the brilliant story of a life, of a passionate couple serving the customer and especially gastronomy.
Jean-Claude of course insisted on the essential presence of Francine. “It was she who gave meaning, a soul to this adventure and I owe her a lot.”
All this in front of a respectful and won over audience. It’s true that the star of the day didn’t have much left to demonstrate!
François Vannson, a lover of real and good cuisine, said some very sympathetic words about his friend….while also including his sadly deceased wife. “She was extraordinary! And of course always present.” And to see that Jean-Claude was able to transform Vosges cuisine by bringing it his talent, rigor, a certain feeling while imposing it through his travels and his various establishments where he excelled.
“In short, Jean-Claude is a reference, a cathedral, a set piece in the Grand Est without forgetting the provision of his knowledge and experience to train young people who are today true business leaders serving of French cuisine.
To end his speech, the President presented him with the Department's Gold Medal. A prestigious and oh so rare award.
A personalized signing session closed this small literary event in a perfectly friendly atmosphere.
A wonderful book to recommend, full of anecdotes, memories, recipes that are easy to make even at home for this extraordinary, starred cook.
Besides, pedagogy is also a recipe!
